What To Wear

Within our Pre-School environment, all children are encouraged to explore. Some activities will be messy; some will undoubtedly leave their clothes wet. In order to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials, including messy ones, it is best to send children in clothes which are easily washable or not too new. They are out to have fun and do not need the added worry of spoiling clothes.

It is also good for children to practise the skills which will make them independent. Simple clothing which they can handle themselves will enable them to go to the toilet when they want to; be able to put on and take off their outdoor clothes without being too dependent on practitioners help. Please ensure that all clothing and shoes are named.

Shoes for playing outdoors need to be sensible to avoid injury. No heels, flip-flops, open toes or clogs. Wellington Boots are good if it is really wet but are not good for climbing or running.

All children need to bring a full change of clothes, suitable for the time of year, which can be stored in their draw. Even if your child is dry and does not usually have accidents they can spill their drink; get wet playing in the water or muddy when playing outside.

Your child may come home dirty, but will have had fun exploring; being active and making friends.
